Religion.
Politics.
Money.
These are hot topics that cause conflict. People are passionate about those three topics and it is not our job to debate with them.
See, I just believe that I can be friends with people and love them EVEN THOUGH we don't agree on stuff. Our friendship is not based on whether or not we believe the exact same things.
It's like we all believe that if we associate with someone who doesn't see things the way that we do then we will "catch" their "disease"-their "wrongness."
I personally hate conflict. Like, HATE IT-hate it. There is very little that will push me to fight back. I guess that is why I have never understood why people get so bent out of shape about proving their point. I believe with all of my heart that nobody has ever changed their mind about anything because they were belittled and shamed into it....
Just browse through any comment section of any news article on Facebook and you will see exactly what I am talking about!
We throw elbows and nearly crucify ANYONE that does or says anything that goes against what they believe.
This is hard for me.
You see being funny is risky business. When you are funny, it means that you have to take a stance on topics that you might not have any authority to speak about.
I am probably going to write something that is going to get me into trouble.
I will probably make some of you mad and that terrifies me..
See, here is the thing, friend, I want you to like me. I don't want to offend you.
What I have learned about facing my fears, is that I can't do it until I am willing to be brave. Those of you who "get" me and "get" my humor, may not always agree with me but hopefully we can all be respectful and appreciate each other's differences and just be funny.
With that said, if you say something mean, I will delete you. You can disagree nicely or you can go home.
